There's An App for That

Maximizing Assistive Technology
I just learned about a wonderful resource from Easter Seals Houston called "Bridging Apps" that helps people with disabilities enhance their lives with apps for iPad®, iPhone®, iPodTouch® and Android® devices.
The BridgingApps website and search tools offer something for everyone, regardless of age or disability, including an extensive review system that focuses on skills rather than age, diagnosis or developmental level to help improve outcomes for a person with a disability.
There's info on how to optimize your use of Siri, Google Home, and a myriad of hardware and software designed to assist people with disabilities. Dozens of how-to videos are also available on a variety of helpful subjects (many in both Spanish and English).
Here's more on this amazingly valuable tool from founder and mom Cristen Reat:
After spending even just a little time on the website, my mind is spinning with ways to leverage this tool with our adult son and others in my life (including aging adults and friends who are "technologically challenged" at times or just not optimizing the potential of their smart phones and laptops).
BridgingApps is a powerful tool to support individuals at school, at work, and within the community. I can't wait to explore further!
